Fay Lake Property

The Fay Lake property consists of 17 continguous claims, comprising 2719 ha and lies on the northern boundary of the Flin Flon Volcanic Arc assemblage and their higher-grade metamorphic equivalents in the Kisseynew Gneiss terrane. The volcanic assemblages and overlying Missi sediments are of Proterozoic age. The rocks, which have been complexly folded, with a regional metamorphic grade of upper amphibolite.

The property contains both a gold rich VMS Deposit (Redwin) and gold bearing quartz veined shear zone similar in mineralogy to the Puffy Lake Mine. The property is strategically located between Hudbay’s copper-zinc Vamp Lake VMS Deposit and the Puffy Lake Gold Mine.

In 1932-33 three shipments totalling 229 tonnes of massive sulphides containing some chalcopyrite along with quartz vein material within or near the sulphides were sent from the Redwin Deposit off to Hudbay Mining and Smelting. The Material assayed too low in copper (<1%) but averaged up to ~15 g/t gold in two shipments and 4.5 g/t gold in a third. Hudbay Mining rejected the project based on the low copper grade which averaged around 0.5% Cu/t.

  • 1st shipment 42.6 tonnes of 14.6g/t Au, 50 g/t Ag and 0.2% Cu
  • 2nd shipment 40 tonnes of 15.7 g/t Au, 7.9 g/t Ag and 0.65% Cu
  • 3rd shipment 147 tonnes of 4.5 g/t Au, 4.5 g/t Ag and 0.51% Cu

Redwin Deposit Fay Lake Shaft

The Fay Lake 2021-2023 prospecting and mapping program obtained significant gold assays from sampling of gold veins on the Redwin Grid, those in the Redwin Shaft area, approximately between lines 24 and 26 E, a span of 200m had significant gold and all were associated with the veins in proximity to the Redwin massive sulphide horizon.

Two of the higher samples 298693 assayed 146.9 g/t Au and sample 27315 assayed 59.88 g/t Au (J. Pearson, Sept. 4, 2024, National Instrument 43-101 Fay Lake technical report). In 2025 Boreal Gold received results on the Fay gold showing, east of the railroad on the Fay Lake Property, which lies on the western portion of the Puffy Lake mine style gold mineralization trend. Sample 27309 collected in 2021 assayed 14.33 g/t Au and 65.8 g/t Ag at the Fay Gold Showing (Boreal Gold Inc (BGLD) Press Release September 11, 2025).

In 2025 Boreal Gold also received gold assay results from trench No. 6 on an island in the eastern area of Koscielny Lake, where several quartz veins occur on the most eastern part of the Fay Lake property south of the Puffy Lake gold mine. Six of the nine samples collected returned assays over 1.0 g/t gold with notable samples 298802 assaying 5.7 g/t gold and sample 298804 assaying 9.7 g/t gold (Boreal Gold Inc (BGLD) Press Release November 21, 2025). Selective high gold and silver assays from these exploration programs are highlighted in the table on the left.
